Timing is everything. The rhythm of this toast was impeccable and the “punch line” was perfect. Courtney the MOH and the bride’s sister pulls off one the the funnest moments at a wedding reception I have seen. Katie and Logan we still have another couple weeks, but thought you’d enjoy a preview of things to come.
I think God gives us a handful of elated moments in our lives that just stand out. The birth of my two children and my wife of nearly 22 years walking down the aisle. These are a couple of mine. THE BEST part of my job is capturing one of your top 5: the moment the two of you make eye contact on your wedding day…..magic. I love it when people (men too) tell me our films make them cry. That’s a good thing. (Btw, we hand out custom boxes of tissues in our studio). Thanks to KPL of Your Dream Day for the idea.
The reason you may shed a tear is b/c we here at Lifetime are recreating that moment for you. Someone once told me “Art is the process of recovering the sensation of being alive”. Our shooting style is just let life happen, you’ll find emotion. I wanted to bring a fresh look to this wedding, so I collaborated with two great videographer friends of mine who did an amazing job: Scott Reith from First Image Films and Andy Reith from R Max Films. Thanks guys:)
Outdoor weddings are my personal favorite. There isn’t a better light designer than God. Although you do run the risk of having rain while celebrating outside, when the weather does cooperate there’s absolutely nothing else like it. I love the sun shot Dan Shallenberger captures in this latest Highlight Reel. Laurie & Mohammed, you’re production still has a couple of weeks before we deliver, but as you can see, it’s coming along very nicely.
We capture absolute magic during some toasts. Katie’s dad telling her all his wishes came true that day was just some of that magic. This production is turning in to quite a nice showpiece for us here at Lifetime. As we went through all the footage we kept finding gold, just some incredible moments in time as you’ll see.
We’re putting the finishing touches on this one Katie and Jon. I’ll be in touch.

To one of the sweetest brides I’ve ever worked with all day, with one of the biggest smiles, here’s a snippet of your wedding video to hold you over until the discs arrive. I wish you both all the best!
What gets me excited is music. Epic music that is seamlessly timed out to the visual scenes from a beautiful wedding. Meet Christine and Nathan, who had an incredible day as you’ll see here.
Nearly everyone but myself from the Lifetime team help put this latest wedding trailer together and I am so proud, this is great! Some fantastic shooting by Dan, Greg and Mark with Chris Joeken’s editing make this fast paced trailer so fun to watch.

We had a great time working with this couple. Notice everyone is smiling I love the shot of Kelly (the bride) crying after she and Jay see each other the first time.
Kelly and Jay we’re putting the finishing touches on your production. Here’s a preview of the highlights. I’ll be in touch soon.

Wasn’t sure if there’d be another blog post for ya, but we decided to do it! Your video is so very close to being wrapped, and I’m sure you’ll be watching it by next week. So, here’s the awesome photoshoot we captured while hangin’ out with Shad & Sandra from Sandra Reed Photography to hold you over.
I’ve witness a lot of homilies in nearly 20 years. This was one of the funniest moments we’ve captured in a long time. Tom and Ashley, your production is finished and it’s wonderful. I’ll be in touch soon.
enjoy,

So last night for like the 127th time in 5 or so years I got to work with one of the incredible make-up artists at Brideface. It was my personal favorite member of the team, the owner and founder Nancy Dawson. She and I had an adventure last night:
We were both part of this vendor all-star team that helped produce this amazing Gothic wedding on Halloween. The backdrop of the beautiful Dayton Art Institute playing host. The bride chose a black wedding gown and hired a professional lighting company to set the visual effect. Red and black were the theme colors. I can’t tell you how cool this was, it just rocked. I am already searching for the perfect music soundtrack. The entire Lifetime team is excited to start cutting (what should be) a jaw dropping wedding film. We’re scheduled to post a preview sometime after the first of the year.
Nancy had the women looking stunning. I love working together b/c she’s an artist, creating facial masterpieces with her brush. I think we have both devolped at style that really compliments each others work. I personally love being a “fly on the wall” in a room full of women capturing natural shots of conversation and facial expressions. Nancy is a master at engaging the bride, bridesmaids or anyone in the room so I can be “Stealth” like recording that nervous energy that’s in the air right before the wedding.
Notice how the camera in these shots is truly invisible, (nobody’s waving at cha). It really let’s me capture magic in time. Through all these years Nancy has helped me do my job better, I wanted to say thanks. After working so much together I decided I wanted to put together a promo for my friend. This is one we produced back in March. I added at the entire Brideface team though different weddings and a recent Brideface open house. Also notice how their finished product not only looks perfect, I also passes the “cry” test.
btw, special thanks to Tine Hofman of tmphotgraphy.net for the awesome photographs.
