"Unmatched quality in Cincinnati wedding cinematography since 1991"

A woman’s touch-a wedding opening/debut

Kendra and Chris: your production is finished, and it’s wonderful. The clip below is just the first few minutes. Enjoy! I’ll be in touch this week about getting the DVDs to you.

IMHO, as a whole, women seem to be much more sensitive to detail than men. (Note how some men dress?!). Because of their sensitivity, I am proud to have three fantastic women on staff here at Lifetime.

Meet Ellen. She’s been editing for Lifetime for more than 4 years. In the past I’ve asked her to allow me to put other clips of her work on the Lifecasting blog. She’s always refused, saying that her work needs to be better. With Chris and Kendra’s wedding, though, she said: “This is the one; post it.” I feel blessed to have Ellen on our team.

This is the magic Ellen works: She is given the raw footage (all the film shot at the wedding). Ellen then must edit less than 20% of the entire footage (the best shots) into an artistic and heartfelt portrayal of the couple on their wedding day. What Ellen presents is the couple’s story. Her goal is the have the viewers feel that they have a personal connection with the bride and groom.

Ellen chooses the particular images and music that evoke in the viewers the underlying emotion of a very special people on their very special day. Of course, It’s the skill of the videographer — in this case the incomparable work of my partner in crime, Dan Shallenberger — that gives the editor excellent material to work with; but it’s editors like Ellen who provide the final production its heart and soul.

This is her Lifecasting debut.
enjoy,

  1. Ellen, I think this cut is amazing! Very emotional, and draws the viewer into the video to feel the moments of the day.

I like it a lot! I’ve watched it twice already.

  2. Ellen, you did a wonderful job! Love it! I am the mother of the bride! You should be very proud of your artistic touch! After viewing this trailer yesterday I rushed out to pick up our copies of the entire video and my husband and I watched it last night. We both needed the kleenex! You all did such a great job of creating a beautiful “telling” of Kendra and Chris’ wedding. Thank-you from the bottom of our hearts.
