The Oregon Trail – a wedding opening

February 27th, 2009 - 10:15pm | by Dan Shallenberger

Hey Donny & Amy,

Your wedding video is finished! I know with you living so far away, I wanted you to be able to see a preview. This clip is the opening to your video. There’s a LOT more, but this will help bring the day back for you while waiting for the whole video to arrive in the mail.

You guys were awesome to work with! You both looked so incredibly happy. I love shooting at the Verdin Bell Center. It’s just so beautiful in there. Also, it was great seeing you and chatting a few weeks later at Drees!

Later,
Dan

The Box & the Wedding Police-2 for 1

February 24th, 2009 - 4:38pm | by Matt Pine

Lindsay Hatfield-Connelly was the kind of bride we love to work with, she thinks outside the box. She wanted her wedding to be like no other, and it was. VERY creative and very original. Right down to the smallest detail, it was perfect! Brides like Lindsay realize that there’s no such thing as the “Wedding Police” who are going to come into your church or reception and tell you that you can’t do something in your own style. As long as it’s legal and nobody gets hurt, make your wedding your own.

Lindsay and Keith’s trailer went up last month and we’re now working on their reception (sorry guys couple more weeks) :) Linds has told me they LOVE the trailer and would like to see more. I was having the hardest time deciding on which of these clips to blog. I couldn’t decide, so here’s both the opening/bridal prep and photo shoot from the CAC.

Look for special “guest star appearances” from Nancy at Brideface, April of Bluebird Photography and Jules of Cincy Wedding Planning

enjoy,
~mp

“Ben, kiss the bride again!” – A Reception Opening

February 21st, 2009 - 6:57pm | by Dan Shallenberger

One kiss just isn’t enough… and Ben was happy to oblige!

Ben & Jess, your production is done! Call Matt when you get a chance to schedule a time to pick up your production on Monday. To help hold you over until then, I wanted to share a clip from your video. As your recessional song starts, it carries into your reception opening. Enjoy!

The Roller Coaster-Our 2009 Promo

February 14th, 2009 - 7:15pm | by Matt Pine

What you’re about to see is a year in the making. It’s 38 weddings and one marriage proposal in 2 minutes and 8 seconds. Each year the Lifetime team produces a promo using some clips from the previous year. We did cheat a little and use Linds & Keith wedding from this past month along with some of my older favorites. But most of what you’ll see was shot in 2008.

This promo is somewhat like a roller coaster. I wanted to take you, the audience, on the emotional ride that happens on the day of a wedding. The biggest part of this promo coincides with the feel of the music. The opening drum beat is climbing up that first hill and then the break is that free falling moment in time all the way until the ride comes to an abrupt stop on the last beat.

Although I did edit this, it was a group effort as I was able to use shots from everyone on the Lifetime team.

Hang on,

~mp

“The itsy bitsy spider”-A bridal prep

February 11th, 2009 - 6:26pm | by Matt Pine

My partner in crime Dan Shallenberger has been hogging the blog over the past week, so it’s my turn!

In order to keep this cute little flower girl (Isabella) happy, the bride (Sara) and all her bridesmaids had to sing the Itsy bitsy spider song 19 times this day. Actually, it was just a few times. Long enough to take her mind off of getting her dress on.

Scott and Sara your production is fantastic and it’s nearly done. I’ll be calling soon:)

Special thanks to Mark and Dan for getting some amazing footage on this one.

enjoy,
~mp

“How to be the worst Best Man ever” – a wedding highlight

February 9th, 2009 - 12:51am | by Dan Shallenberger

That’s not the first time I’ve seen the rings misplaced, and it won’t be the last I’m sure. No worries, though, it all worked out perfectly fine, and added some comic relief to an already fun ceremony!

Joe and Stacy, your wedding was seriously fun! You guys were just amazing! Working with you both was a blast, and your family and wedding party were just awesome. And of course, Amanda, Beth and Joe Griffin helped make the day! By the way, Amanda, the photos of this wedding I saw on your blog were amazing!

Your wedding video is almost finished. You should be watching it by the end of the week at the latest. But I really wanted to share with you the highlight video now. Enjoy!

Peace,
Dan

“Did you get the flower girls crying?” – a credits highlight

February 3rd, 2009 - 5:36pm | by Dan Shallenberger

Sometimes I start writing a post about a recent wedding, and I just don’t know where to start. Dustin and Abby, you guys were such a great couple, it was so easy to see the intense and strong connection between you both. Your wedding day was a blast, and you were a blast to hang out with all day!

Every once in a while, we at Lifetime feel inspired by the footage captured and the overall feel of the day to do something extra. Instead of the typical ending credits I do, I put together a credits highlight, telling the story of the day at the end of the movie. And, I wanted to share it with you right here on our blog! And make sure to call Matt soon to setup a time to pick up your completed wedding!

And yes, I got the flower girls crying!

Peace,
Dan
