“My mom, my brother & me”-a daughter’s toast

Telling a family’s story on film has 3 key ingredients: telling the story, seeing what happens, and hearing the music enhance the story’s flow. This is by far one of the most heartfelt and emotional toasts from a child to a parent we have ever captured on film. Meet Mollie, the storyteller. Mollie is the daughter of Tracie. Tracie married Mike in June of 2010. Mollie’s wedding toast to her mother and her new husband relates how Tracie devoted herself to raising two children alone, always putting Mollie and brother, Zack, before herself. Of course, as children will do, Mollie and Zack grew into wonderful adults and set out on lives and careers of their own. Only then, as if on cue, did Mike come into Tracie’s life, The rest, as they say, is history. Well, I’ll tell you, by the time Mollie was finished with their story, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room; everyone was in tears, including the entire Lifetime crew.

Paul Brown Stadium is an incredible venue to host a wedding and reception. There’s just so much space to work with. Meet Jenni & Mike who started dating around the age of 15. They had a bit of a break and then found each other again. True love. The Lifetime crew had a blast. Spending almost 13 hours capturing everything from the bridal prep to the last dance, there wasn’t a dull moment. Special thanks to Mark & Sam Roberts for some amazing camera work and Danny Hutchinson for working his magic with sound.

The good, the hungry & the charitable

Couples planning a wedding in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky and Dayton are so lucky. In the past couple of years, several hundred wedding specialists: caterers, florists, wedding coordinators, photographers – everyone you might need – have formed an extremely powerful networking web.

About 200 of us got together last Wednesday, July 14, A NIGHT OF NIBBLING: Wedding Vendors for Charity at the amazing Leapin’ Lizards Art Gallery. The event featured 4 of the area’s foremost caterers who vied for “Best of The Evening” title: Eatwell, A La Cart, Bensons, and Creations by Melody.

We all sampled their dishes and voted for our favorites, paying $5 for each ballot. We collected quite a bit of money, of which 100% went to charities designated by the caterers. Donations were made to Lighthouse Youth Services, Cincinnati Parks, USO-Operation Enduring Care, and The Greenacres Foundation Equine Center. The charities benefited, and the vendors had a blast.
As an added bonus my dear friend Tracy Bellman (T-Bell as I know her) of Tres Belle Cakes provided some delectable cupcakes. The incredible Jeff Martin of Le Sucre Bakery entertained us all by deconstructing a traditional wedding cake Jackson Pollack style. It was something to see.

The next time you attend a wedding. Make sure you turn to see the groom’s reaction. This one is priceless and with a soundtrack! Both Emily and Tim provided us with some amazing descriptive words to what they thought it was going to be like to see each other that day. Watch what happens, it’s almost like they predicted the future…..

Life passes us by so quickly; we sometimes miss an immortal moment because we blinked or were so caught up in our own emotions, we could not see it. It’s happened to me more times than I care to count.

For instance, I’m looking through the camera viewfinder while shooting, and a moment of incredible beauty and poignancy will get captured on camera but not registered on my consciousness. Then later, when I’m into the editing process, I’ll see it again and get the full impact. During this process I can use my editing tools: slow motion, filters, and most importantly, the music and voices of the day. For me, it’s déjà vu in HD; it’s the favorite part of my job.

Our newest Lifetime team members, Mark and Sam (Samantha) Roberts captured a good number of these amazing moments throughout this May wedding. Mark and Sam got all of the bridal preparation activities and some great footage from the ceremony and reception. Audio specialist, Danny Hutchison, mixed the sound with his usual deft touch. Kudos to all three of you.

Meet bride and groom, Chris and Lindsay. These two, the bridal parties, and both families gave us so much to work with that there was never a dull moment.

For the 2nd time in 6 months we were fortunate to join forces with Sandra and Shad Reed of Sandra Reed Photography. Special thanks to Alison Wenstrup of Aviva Events for recommending Lifetime for this wedding.

‘Oh, you are SO beautiful’

First, a tale of two photographers:
A huge thank you to my dear friend Angela of Essenza Studio for recommending Lifetime to this wonderful couple. If you haven’t seen Essenza’s work, it’s nothing short of amazing. Creating side by side with her and her crew is always a blast. The creatively flows freely and it’s so exciting to see what the other comes up with. I also want to thank another still photographer friend of mine Sherri Barber of Sherri Barber Photography. She came in an actually shot video (the small detail shots) with her Cannon SLR camera. I loved mixing her stuff in with the film we captured.

I’m a little bias, but I truly believe Lifetime has the best looking clients:) Meet Caroline and Pete. They couldn’t take thier eyes off each other all day. Everything was perfect! Plus the background of both St. Rose and Hyde Park Country Club added to this incredible day.

‘Hanging Ice’-an inspiration

At Lifetime we are inspired by you and your vision of your wedding day. When I saw ice sculptures hanging from the ceiling at Liz and Stuart’s wedding reception my jaw hit the floor. This entire room at Hyde Park Country Club took people’s breath away. Everything from the start of the day to the last dance of the night was amazing. It also helped that we were working with a stunning bride and a handsome groom:)
